Is it GDPR compliant to email people asking them to subscribe?
I have about 3,000 email addresses in my Dropbox. I have really forgotten how I got it. Probably from my failed project 2 years ago.
I just set up a newsletter and would want to email this people asking them to subscribe.
Is it okay or I should just delete the emails?
It's not GDPR compliant.
However, if you're not based in the EU it's entirely okay to keep those email addresses and continue to use them. 3k email addresses is very valuable, so I would suggest filtering out the EU addresses (if possible) and then email the rest asking them to subscribe.
