Is it just me? Do you track your SaaS metrics in Google Sheets?

There are so many tools to track your company's performance, I am quite comfortable with Google Sheets for my startup.

Do you use Google Sheets? If not which tools do you use?

Well, depending on the metrics that you track. We actually use a CRM and it has a direct connection with Data Studio. We built a dedicated dashboard and aggregate data from various sources - we track sales metrics from CRM, website performance from GA, and some SEO parameters from Serach Console.

Nice, do you tie them up together into a single report ? Or you use CRM, GA and Search console seperately?

Yes, it's a single dashboard, but we connected multiple sources for different business metrics.

Not just you... same here. It can be time consuming when creating the sheet and writing the formulas, but for a small startup like mine, totally worth it.

I would also advise others to do the same, save some $$$ this way and do it manually.

I suppose it depends on what the metrics are and where they are found. If not captured in a tool that has decent analytics / data visualization, I'll manage some metrics in Google Sheets. Spreadsheets aren't going anywhere. Too useful for a variety of needs. 😎

Exactly. Spreadsheets are so versatile, and helps with easy translation of ideas.

Yeah we do for the marketing funnel side of things, and Mixpanel for product engagement metrics.

We use Sheets to power our Datastudio dashboard along with GA.

Can you explain the last line. I thought Sheets and Datastudio are two different products. How can one visualize data from Sheets in Datastudio?

You can add Sheets as one of the data sources on Data Studio. So I push user data from Intercom and a couple other sources into a Google sheet and then use Data Studio to visualize it and combine it with GA data.

I use the stripe dashboard and google analytics thats enough for me...

Yes, I agree its enough for most folks.
