Hello fellow indie hackers!
With the latest surge of Kubernetes popularity, I was thinking that starting a dialog on this subject would help some of us. I am currently using at my day job Kubernetes and I plan to do so when I will launch my current "indie startup".
I wrote a few words about this on https://amethystplatform.com/blog/is-kubernetes-right-for-you if you are interested.
So, who's using Kubernetes right now and why? Or why not? :D
Kubernetes is a great tool to have in your toolbox, but it's not a requirement for running applications.
Kubernetes is a container orchestrator that manages the life cycle of containers. You can run applications on Kubernetes without having to run Kubernetes itself.
If you're looking for a general purpose, open source container orchestration system, Kubernetes might be right for you. But if you need more than that, you'll want to consider Kubernetes alternatives like Docker Swarm or Mesos.
