Is launching on Producthunt worth the effort?

Producthunt seems to attract many commercial launches, appearently managed with an agency background or at least with significant marketing work for content and initial push. Is it worth to compete as an indie maker - any recent experience around?

I personally haven't had any good results with product hunt. I think all I managed was one up vote. I've seen others have similar results but I've also seen products have huge success using product hunt.

But is it worth it, i'd say yes. Is free so you have nothing to lose, if you don't get any traction you've not lost anything, but if you do then that's a bonus.

    Considering it's free, yes.

I spent a few hours on launch and got 2000+ visitors. I would say it is worth it.

Your landing page and product will need a bit of work design wise, PH loves good design even if the software isn't usable.

Of course it is, considering your target audience hangs out there!

You can launch on Saturday/Sunday if you don't want to compete with larger companies.

    Hey Frank.

I personally have not posted a launch on Product Hunt, but it seems that you have to get lots of votes to really get traction on a launch. People launch more than once too.

I had a similar product to yours which I shut down earlier this year. Can you send me a PM? I think at the least I can help with some pointers/learnings...

    Cheers,
    Jonathan
