Hi there! I'm Erdy, right now I'm building a mobility-as-a-service platform for the Indonesian market.
I want to share a bit about mentoring. I've been doing mentoring sessions since I was in high school in 2008. Back then, I was a mentee to dig and learn more about life purpose and more self-development. And it continues back in college and when I started my business until now.
I keep being a mentee today, but also to pay it forward, I'm starting to be a mentor on several occasions. Because I think mentoring is one way to shorten the learning process by listening & understanding it directly from the mentor. You don't need to experience things as the mentor did, but you can get the lesson learned from them, right?
As a mentor, I think mentoring is a two-way learning process. I learn a lot from my mentee, I can understand more about the trends that happened in my mentee's generation, their thinking process, etc. Through mentoring, it can make your perspective wider.
A few months ago, I have this idea to improve my mentoring experience, and who knows it can also improve others'. If you happen to be a mentor or mentee, please your thought and maybe pain in doing a mentoring session. Would be very glad to hear from you all!
Mentorship can definitely shorten the learning curve, but only when paired with execution.
Advice alone doesn’t create progress—consistent action and feedback do.
