Will living in NYC, rather than NJ, make any difference in my success to become an entrepreneur? I am weighing the cost of living in NYC with the potential opportunities that it could have. My thought is that there is a lot of networking events that I could attend if I lived in NYC though not sure if this will help my end goal of having my own venture. I am working on a couple projects outside of my day job. My hope is to work on my startup full time.
I live in NYC. I'd say it's what you make of it. You could probably find communities of entrepreneurs that meet up and chat. But imo, it's not necessary and I don't see why it would give you a significant difference in your success as an entrepreneur.
Cost of living in NYC is high and with the remote world, there are heaps of online communities! BUT if you're looking for an energetic city with new things happening every day and the lifestyle in NYC is better than your lifestyle in NJ, then that could have an impact on your productivity.
TLDR - I feel like it's less about the specific city, but more about how you'll live in it. Hope that helps!
Great response! Thank you Allison!
