Is my idea dumb? A job board as an extension

Maybe this is what you meant, but it would be cool if as I browsed it checked if the current site was hiring. For example I go to stripe.com to integrate Stripe in my sideproject and once I land there the extension shows me the positions they're hiring for in a little window. It'll be great because people will be more interested in jobs for stuff they already enjoy using.

I think it's a good idea - but instead of looking at all jobs, if I can keep up to date with the latest jobs that match my filters (location included), this would be of a much greater value to me. I would definitely try it out.

Nice suggestion. Although it'd require crawling a lot of job boards in order to work (or scrape Indeed), but for now I think I'll go with a niche (e.g. remote jobs) to see if people actually like this "find jobs in new tabs while browsing".

I think it's a good idea but it would be awesome if the user can enter their specific criteria and those jobs (whenever listed) are being shown up.
Also one-click form fill-up would be cherry on the top

Just to clarify, this job board is only available when you click on extension? right?

Bonus points if it can fill out the application with stored data input at an earlier time.

      Interesting suggestion thanks!
I started working on this idea, but for the MVP I'll probably just display the jobs in a new tab, and if people like this "finding jobs in new tabs while browsing" then I'll probably should implement features like this.
