Is not having a landing page a good idea?

I just bootstrapped pendragons.io, a productivity and portfolio tool for freelance writers.

Instead of building a landing page, a visitor is offered a peek into the live workspace of my wife, who is writing different materials for the app.

I’m curious about your thoughts if it was a good choice and if the message gets through.
