Is our landingpage awesome or not? ๐Ÿš€

Hey fellow IndieHackers!

We are very excited about building our side-project and we have launched our MVP. There is of course a lot of things we have already planned to fix, launch and etc., but that's a part of the journey!

We have made a landingpage for it and would be awesome with some feedback!

We were thinking about feedback on:

  • Content (Is the headline explaining the product well enough)?
  • Does the hero image make sense in terms of what we are making?
  • What else would be needed (Keep in mind that it's just the MVP and not the final product).

The landingpage: https://www.tapely.io/

Have a great day and thanks for the time in advance!

I would change the "Get started" CTA copy to "Try for free" - "get started" can mean many things, "try" is more accurate.
Do also change the CTA in the header on the top right from purple to white:

    • to stay consistent with the one in the hero
    • for accessibility: the blue on purple doesn't have enough contrast and is hard to read. Readability is vital for a CTA.

Otherwise, it's a relatively strong start for a MVP, albeit a bit short. You should probably expand on:

    • why thumbnails are important for videos (maybe have stats)
    • what your product does - maybe have a gif that shows it in action
    • in your blog, in articles, the table of contents' text is dark grey over black - needs to be lighter for contrast.

    Page loads are quite slow.

At a first glance, the website does give a good impression though.

      Awesome feedback Paul!

So many great points that we can now work on! It's so valuable to hear from others who just see it as a "User" and not the creators.

We are staring blind at what we are making, so it's very helpful and I'll update all the things you mentioned.

We are also going to be split-testing with having the input field and button and just the button.

Right now there isn't any authentication, but I can see it being a big hindrance to having to fill in your email and click a button, even though it's just a redirect. So until we have authentication, we might as well just have the button and then redirect. Then we can have more Users try it out.

Thanks again and have a great day!

Loving the landing page design! It's clean and visually pleasing. The headline explains what Tapely is about and the hero image complements the idea.

I think it's only missing the "how", how would you help Youtubers and thumbnail artists design easier and faster? In other words, how would you help Youtubers (a person who lack time and/or designing skills) differently than what they can achieve using a tool like Canva? and how would you help thumbnail artist (a person who have the designing skill) differently than what they can achieve using Adobe Suite tools?

Awesome feedback and glad you like it so far!

100% you are right and we should focus on that next. The only thing is that a lot of the cool features are coming later.

Do you think it would make sense to have both current and upcoming features listed? So those which are not developed could have a "Coming soon" tag?

Sounds great! It totally makes sense and I think it would be very valuable to do it that way.
