I was just about to jump into planning for the quarter, essentially deciding on what quantifiable outcomes I need to acheive within the next 3 month period, when a thought occured to me 'is the historical quarterly action plan approach actually a weakness as opposed to a strength?'
A quick Google validated that the 'Quarterly Action Plan' hasn't really been in vogue since pre-2020 - I suspect it has been largely replaced by agile methodologies executed over 'sprints' and/or have been relegated to corporate application, where quantifiable change within a 3 month window would likely be an exception...
My alternate plan is to execute 1 - 2 week sprints (feat. quantifiable outcomes to acheive) but still define some bigger goals for the quarter so I have a North Star to follow when I inevitably get excited/distracted by something shiny.
Any thoughts +, - or otherwise would be greatly appreciated!
