Hey Indie Hackers! 👋
I'm excited (and a little nervous!) to finally share my first SaaS side project with you all: MyResumePDF.com.
For the past couple of months, I've been chipping away at this in my spare time, and it's finally at a point where I feel ready to put it out into the wild and, hopefully, get some initial traction and valuable feedback.
The Problem I'm Solving:
Like many of you, I've gone through the job search process. One of the most consistently frustrating parts was creating and formatting a professional-looking resume. I tried various free templates, word processors, and online tools, but they often felt clunky, limited in design, or required a lot of manual tweaking to get just right.
That's where the idea for MyResumePDF.com came from. I wanted to build a simple, intuitive platform that allows users to:
Effortlessly create professional and modern resume designs. No more wrestling with formatting!
Focus on their content, not the layout. Our templates are designed to highlight skills and experience effectively.
Easily download their resume as a clean, ATS-friendly PDF. Crucial for today's job market.
This is such a smart and practical solution to a common pain point. The idea of having a centralized, beautifully formatted resume in PDF that updates dynamically based on your online data is incredibly useful — especially for freelancers, job seekers, and indie builders who often have to maintain multiple versions of their resume across platforms.
I also love the clean design and user-centric approach you’ve taken. It’s clear that you’ve really thought through the UX from both the candidate’s and recruiter’s perspective, which adds real value to the product.
There’s something very satisfying about automating a traditionally tedious process like resume creation. I can see this saving users hours of repetitive work — and reducing the stress of always having to “stay updated.”
Great work! I’ll definitely keep an eye on this one. Thanks for building something so thoughtful and needed.
Thank you so much for such incredibly kind and detailed feedback! It's really encouraging to hear that you understand the pain points we're trying to solve and that the design and user-centric approach resonate with you. Knowing that it can save users time and reduce stress is exactly what we were aiming for. Your support means a lot, and we're excited to keep developing and improving!
How is the user feedback till now? Very curious about what do users still think about resume builders.
So far, people seem pretty happy with it! They like how easy it is and that the resumes look modern.
Do you have an affiliate program? I have just launched GrowthRoles .com and I can plug in the affiliate link. The traffic is low right now, but it should grow substantially in the coming 2-3 months.
Not right now, but I'm thinking about implementing one. I will keep your site in mind.
Nice app. CVs are professional and pretty to look at. Especially valuable for in person hand-in for example during or after an interview.
That's wonderful to hear! We put a lot of effort into making the CVs both professional and visually appealing, so it's great to know that resonates with you, especially for in-person situations. Thanks for the feedback!
