Is the design on the site good?

At the end of the day, the only thing that matters in a design is how well it performs for you.

Did it help you retain customers?
Did it help you obtain new customers?
Did it reduce any previous frustrations or concerns from customer feedback?

I think this design for target segment is actually right! For normal techie products, maybe not. I'd just make a little change in your font size system, color hierarchy, and content structure.

I'm also improving my site, keen to know your feedback!

I may find it pretty basic. And for that price I would have challenged more the designer to get a higher design and aesthetically pleasent result.
In the end you have to see the numbers, the SEO, the copywriting, ect. from that you can understand if it was worth it or not.

the design looks nice because it's easy on the eye with the pastel palette, but you have a FOI - flash of invisible text, i.e., when the font gets loaded it triggers a reflow and a flash. i don't know what system you're using you need to load the google font with display-swap e.g. 'https://fonts.googleapis.com/css2?family=Manrope:wght@200&display=swap'

Going to be brutally honest here, but your site wasn't "designed." They literally took a free theme, threw way too much copy in and called it a day. You were ripped off big time.

With a site as simple as this, I would recommend buying a theme on Squarespace for $30 or less. It would look 100x better and you can have it up and running in 30 minutes.

What are your analytics like? Are you getting calls/leads?

I would clean up the copy quite a bit. It is choppy and way too verbose, especially on mobile. The domain name is also way too long.

I will be candid, you got robbed.

You can put together something on squarespace that looks better for $10 a month.

It is a free/cheap Wordpress theme.

No one is going to read all that text as well.
