That doesn't necessarily mean that 1) you can reach them 2) you'll be able to make money relative to the effort.
Both are good points to consider.

But would a hundred? A hundred thousand?
Not every idea needs 100,000 customers. If you can get 1000 paying customers while keeping your operation lean (ie. just you) that's a good chunk of change.
Of course. I guess it goes back to the intent of your venture. Are you trying to create a side income? or something that you can throw your whole life into?
