Is there a Netlify-type hosting that is cheaper? Looking for product ideas.
I had a product idea that turned out to already be covered by Netlify's offering (I had never used Netlify before, it's pretty awesome!). But the lowest paid plan being $45/month seems expensive. I'm wondering if there are alternatives to Netlify that are cheap or take a different angle on the low-friction hosting stuff? I'm looking for a different take on my idea.

Hi Matt, I came across your thread almost a year later. Did you end up doing anything? I love Netlify but admittedly haven't had much need to hook up a database. My bigger needs have been around having a CMS for client's to access. I know Netlify has this as a feature, but so far I've only tried Siteleaf, which is built on top of Jekyll.
Could you use Sanity.io to hook up with something like FaunaDB or Supabase's free plan, then deploy t Netlify, Vercel, or Cloudfare for free?

Hi @ChiGuy - I didn't make anything. I saw there were enough awesome options out there already and barrier to entry is not low!
What are you doing that's not covered by Netlify's free plan?
Offer a database API and some other stuff.
What specific technologies are you using and what services are you offering?
I don't know what you mean exactly by a database API but when Netlify is a static website provider it's not sounding like a good fit.
A "static" website can still make calls to a database API like FaunaDB.
