Is there a way to “productize” consulting?

Hi.

I’m a brand consultant.

My service is providing actionable plans to businesses to increase brand awareness, consumer trust/comfort ability, and create a leadership path.

I want to productized this service as well as providing traditional consulting services (which I have been doing for 3 years now).

The only way I see myself being able to do this is building an “online course.”

😖I know as a consultant I’m “teaching” the client but a course doesn’t say to me “productized consulting.”

Does anyone have ideas about how to go about this?

I want to steer away from course because a course enhances SKILL.

Im not enhancing SKILL, I’m providing general strategy.

Thoughts?

I think consulting has stayed consulting because it's very custom/specialized.

Once you "productize" it, it's a SaaS. As many others pointed out, you pick a small part of what you traditionally help your clients with, and make a product out of it.

The good thing here is that, basically, you are likely to have 1000 product ideas. Choose one and start building.

    Hi Charnell!
To productize your brand consulting services, pick a part of your daily processes that you’d like to offer to your customers on a per-purchase basis and highlight its specific benefits. You can do this with a simple landing page and a checkout form integration.

I suggest use no-code/low-code tools in order to speed up the process and find a good monetization strategy.

Thank you so much for your insight! This is true, I hadn't consider individualizing the consulting process.

    Yes. Though, it's not easy.

Create a program (6-weeks for example). Then market the sh*t out of it (content marketing and paid ads). Create a sales funnel so that when people inquire, you send them to a video presentation where you SOLVE something for them, but invite them to a call with you where you can learn more about their situation.

The call is a sales call. Listen but also guide the conversation... dont' just chat for hours. The goal is to sign them up for your higher ticket consulting where you promise to fulfill XYZ result after the 6-weeks. Sell for $2500+ for that 6-weeks and you don't need too many people saying "yes" for it to be worth it.

Then, close the doors and deliver your 6-weeks. At the end of the 6-weeks, give a sick deal on a personal retainer (if desired) and then rinse and repeat the process.

The 6-week program can be a hybrid course. Create an online course but a live QA portion once a week. Include assignments and other interactive components to make it worth it.

    Good luck!
