Is there a website for public ratings of newsletters
Every now and then I stumble upon a newsletter/or a handle on some website which I think (based on one post I have read) would be nice to subscribe to.
But either I am very careful how to decide that or I subscribe and make a mental note to review its usefulness and quality to unsubscribe it a few days later.
It would be really nice to have a public repo/website for ratings of various newsletters along with their current subscribers and other data.
On that note it would be cool to have the same for podcasts and their episodes too.
Any such products out there?
While such a resource may be useful in principle, I personally wouldn't use it anyway.
What I value most of newsletters is their niche focus. And browsing the archive is enough for me to figure whether the content has value to me. So, any ratings or reviews wouldn't influence me much.
I was going to say I'd find utility in a newsletter ratings website but you convinced me. Having said that, a ratings website for paid/paywalled newsletters might be useful though ultimately, such a site would also be gamed by some or the other growth hacker.
A rating and review resource for paid newsletters would be similar to ebook stores where, along with free samples, ratings and reviews are tools customers use to decide what to buy.

You might want to check out Letterdrop.io, the brainchild of KP that helps surface great content on a daily basis. Individual newsletter issues are dropped in by curators and the community upvotes the best issues.
If you like the content you read there, you can choose to subscribe.
