Is there an API/service/piece of software that allows your site to provide users a "bank account?"
I use italki.com for language lessons. On italki, you purchase "credits" using a credit card, which you then spend on lessons (which cost 10 credits, 20 credits, etc). I am planning to build a product that includes a similar feature set, but I'd prefer to use existing software for this purpose rather than start from scratch. Does such a thing exist?
You mean the "credits" system itself so you can spare the time building it yourself ?
We build it ourselves, but Id love to know if something like this exists too...
Exactly. I would make it as a product... it just seems like this is the kind of thing that would be offered by some clever hacker already if not by Square/Stripe.
As we needed it back in the days I actually did not think of it beeing available somewhere. But depending of what you expect of it its not too complex to build. I'd say integrating a 3rd party is "the same" effort with the risk of them shitting down on you.
