I wanted to advertise with ads via carbon but...I need more traffic.

Real talk, the best option is to get more traffic or explore other revenue generating options.
Ads tend to pay in impressions and not necessarily users, so you need some decent traffic to make it viable. Obviously your payouts could be different than this, but for one of my site's I'm making around $4 for 30k ad impressions, generated by ~1000 users.
Ads do tend to cheapen a website experience, so if you're not pushing enough volume to earn more than just a few pennies a day, you're probably going to negatively impact your user's experience... assuming they aren't blocking them ads already :P
In my personal experience, Carbon paid a bit better than Adsense, but it wasn't so earth shattering that I wanted to continue with them long term.
Any affiliate plays that you could leverage? 200 uniques a day isn't bad at all, and I would assume it's a captive audience of designers / techy type people. Maybe pair up with a design agency to refer them work? Maybe venture into design resources that have referral programs, or even some sort of "hosting promotion" where you try to upsell folks on finding solid hosting for their next project.
Just got excited about this... what if you were to take a color palette, apply it to a known premium theme to give somebody a taste of what their site / app could look like? Then push people to whatever service is selling the theme (one that has an affiliate program, of course...). I dunno, just thinking out loud here :)

Well, that's exactly what made me think twice about google ads. I mean, I kept the design of the website clean and now with the ads, it looks terribly cheap.
I was in the Treehouse affiliate program but it wasn't worth it.
I actually thought Carbon would much better, I like the fact that is just one ad floating, simple stuff.
I got those 200 a day since the launch on PH, a blog from prototypr.io and some cross website post.
The launch on PH in 9th place gave 1000 + visitors so that's why the rush with Google Ads.
Yeah I would say is that kind of audience because when I look is mostly from PH ( which it does not mean they are going to be users 100%, but curious... ).
I like the idea to partner up with an agency. It sounds pretty good. There is actually very interesting ones...
Do you mean like, we say a theme on Card, Colorlib,...and so on? or do you mean to design the theme with Figma ( or any )? and then... post it for example on Dribbble, Instagram, etc,...

Carbon was definitely nicer and more direct for my audience, but they stuck me with the smart bar / hello bar ad and I felt it detracted a epic amount from my content so decided to stop using it. Their ads would definitely be relevant to your audience though, so I can see the appeal there as well.
So re: the theme stuff.... first pass, I'd find some popular theme (you mentioned some, I'm honestly not too familiar with the space) but I'd take that theme, screen grab it, slice it up into "color regions" and then hack something together to generate an image based on the color scheme... slap a link on there "here's how this color theme would look... want to buy this theme to get started?".... i mean, hacky / Q&D and all of that, nothing elegant.
I do think the longer term play would be to do as you said with designing themes, posting them on other services and all of that. Could very well end up selling your own service on the design side of things... "Like these colors, hate doing design? Click here!"... then pitch that work over the wall to ManyPixels ;)
