Is there anything such as not enough friction?

I've been doing some testing with my product and I've got the feeling that I've reduced the friction so much..
That it feels like the customers are not converting as much as they used to do when it was harder to subscribe.

Has anyone experience that?

asking before I conduct more "quantitative" experiements.

    It's definitely possible.

You want to aim for the sweet spot between "zero friction" and "qualified signups only."

If you're selling B2B, something like requiring a phone number would do the trick.

If you're selling to site owners, something like requiring a site URL would work.

When you feel like you're getting too many irrelevant signups, you need to qualify them further -- I wouldn't even call it "friction" as it's definitely not friction for the users likely to convert to paying customers.

But you have to know your audience and know for sure what you're adding qualifies them, not annoys them.

Hey Kevin, would be happy to take a look at it, and provide some independent/unbiased feedback.

Also, have you thought about using a session recording software like SmartLook to see what people are actually doing and where they may be falling out?

      Thanks for your message Mike!
I was using Heap for session recording but it didn't provide enough data for me to pin point the reason, I'm going to try SmartLook today.

      sure please do: https://freezingcam.com
