Is this a good idea for software development teams?
Some example topics for the question are:
- developer on-boarding
- disaster training ( think AWS issues)
- codebase documentation
- core product features
- GDPR training
I ask as at my full-time job as a software engineer we use Confluence by Atlassian for internal documentation and communication. It gets the job done but I would love for something that is more geared towards development / product teams. In additional I would like something is more geared towards training (not just for new employees).
My idea is to build a platform for software development teams to create and manage training modules.
Here is an example pitch to a potential customer:
"If you have been trying to build training modules from scratch or with something like Google Docs and think its hard and takes forever, you can create training modules for your teams with DevDrills, so that you can provide more effective training for your teams and spend less time in meetings."

In my experience (as a developer and later CTO) the problem often lies with creating/writing the documents rather than finding a good platform where they are made available. Once we've had good onboarding guides or training documents written, Google Drive (or something like Confluence) was often sufficient for storage and making them available.

Thank you so much for responding. I really appreciate the feedback. Given your answer, is there anything that could have made creating the documentation easier? Also, can you think of any features you would have liked that similar products don’t have?
In addition, my idea is to focus more on allowing users to make more effective training modules, so something more interactive (possibly simulations or real world situations) than just documents. Is this something that would have peaked your interest?
