TL;DR: An app that tells you what transit and micromobility services you can take on a given route.
I have an idea and currently developing, an app that works everywhere (not locked to a city), that you can use to prepare a route between two points, be them in the same city or completely different countries, it will tell you, what city bus you can take to the airport terminal, what plane to take, and when you arrive to your city, what city bus from that place you can take.
There's also the idea of every timing (where possible) being in Real Time, so instead of being based on time tables, we go directly to the city transit apps and sites to get the most accurate time.
What do you think?
I work in this industry and have thought hard about building exactly this before.
But I don't believe the end to end app is either practical or fully beneficial.
Within a city/region and cross country as 2 separate apps might be viable.
But would suggest only focus on one, try both you stretch too thin with completely different challenges to solve.
Routes within 1 city - manageable.
Routes within any city in a single country - complex.
Routes within any city in multiple countries - words don't describe how complex.
Point to point cross country - even google struggle at this....say something!
If you want to try this, start baby steps, make it work and find a business model and then think about second baby step.
I choose to go an alternate path instead.
Look up Waze and Moovit . Something on those lines ?
I think this a great idea, It would really help a lot of people who are travelling on holiday and want to go to events on the holiday.
It would be cool if there was estimate time on how long all the travel will be so users could choose between different options.
