Is this page just too long?

I launched this page late last year. It's a resource for startup founders.

My question: Is it just too much text? Should this be split up across multiple pages? I thought it would help SEO value to have it all on one page, but traffic has been slow despite several linkbacks.

This looks like great content, but definitely intimidating for a first glance. I wonder if you would get more traction if you made a more focused, short landing page, and then linked off to that content (with the TOC) as an "ultimate guide." I feel like you just need a tl;dr upfront before someone wants to dive all the way into deep stuff.

The length of content on a single page and its impact on SEO and traffic can vary based on various factors. While having comprehensive content on a single page can be beneficial for SEO in some cases, it's essential to balance it with user experience.

If you find that the page contains an overwhelming amount of text, and visitors are not engaging with it or traffic is slow, consider the following:

User Experience: Evaluate if the lengthy content is user-friendly. Consider breaking it into logical sections with headings, subheadings, and bullet points to make it easier to read and navigate.

Readability: Ensure the content is easy to skim through and comprehend. Use shorter paragraphs and concise sentences.

Page Load Speed: Long pages with heavy content can lead to slow load times, affecting user experience and SEO. Optimize images and consider splitting content if it improves load speed.

Content Quality: Assess the value and relevance of the content. Ensure it provides valuable information to your target audience.

Internal Linking: If the content is extensive, use internal linking to connect relevant sections, making it easier for users to find related information.

Keyword Usage: Check if the page is well-optimized for relevant keywords. Focus on providing valuable content rather than keyword stuffing.

Mobile Optimization: Ensure the page is mobile-friendly, as an increasing number of users access content on mobile devices.

A/B Testing: Consider conducting A/B testing with different page layouts to gauge user preferences and engagement.

Analytics: Analyze user behavior on the page using tools like Google Analytics to identify potential areas of improvement.

Splitting lengthy content across multiple pages might be a suitable solution in some cases, but it's crucial to maintain coherence and flow between sections. Ultimately, prioritizing user experience and valuable content will contribute to better SEO and engagement.
