Is this website monetizable and how?

Everyone saying ads and affiliates. That's all short term.

I'd use this list as a stepping stone to gather an audience and continue building products that help the music creators them selves.

I see this as an ebook instead of a link directory. Sell a book with all this content inside instead of linking to it freely. I assume there are people who want to know the best/most effective ways to market their music and would pay $x for a book containing this info. You could even write the book as a strategy from a pro/experienced person. Tell your success stories, give steps, etc. This would maybe turn a $20 product into a $50 product (made up numbers).

As has already been said, ads / affiliates seem like low hanging fruit. That said, I think a more interesting avenue to go down would be to actually provide setup services. You're demonstrating knowledge and authority in this particular niche, so while there's lots of freely available information there, I'd be willing to bet that a bunch of people would pay you either set some of this stuff up for them.

If you don't have your own paid product or service to promote to the site audience, the options I see ads and affiliate links as Alberto mentioned.

But ads and affiliates need tons of views to work, and you need to find a cheap (possibly free) way to send people to your site.

If I was given this site today and told "make it profitable" I'd pick every podcast where Ryan Hoover was interviewed on the early days of Product Hunt, as the site looks very similar in concept.

I'd immediately setup a way to capture people's email addresses and create a "lead magnet" mini-product to offer them, and start creating useful content on the site blog, and spread the word via every channel that I can find.

Do you have visibility in the music industry through active engagement in forums or groups filled with people that need this site? Do you have a Facebook page followed by the people you are targeting? If not, first you need a way to get to this audience. Usually if you don't have an audience you can partner with who can provide it for you, but again - with no product to sell, ads alone can't make a positive ROI I fear.

For advertising you need a ton of traffic to make it worth the money. I would contact all the players and ask them if they would be interested in a Sponsor status with a top banner (only one line of text ). I have it on a number of my tools and it brings good traffic to the sponsor. if you sell it on a three to six month basis it could be a nice deal for both of you , sponsor and publisher

I see two ways to monetize this:

• ads
• affiliates. But the tools in your list need to have some sort of affiliate program

I think it depends on how much effort you want to put into this and what you enjoy doing. Ads and affiliates like everyone said are low hanging fruits as well as zero-attention revenue drivers (you can focus on other parts of the product).
If I were really excited about building content, I would use this platform to target those who want to use this website: musicians. Musicians want to get connected with other talented musicians, have deeper engagement with their fans, and make a living.
Maybe you can have a paid (low cost one time or annual fee) for creating the most awesome place where highly engaged and enthusiastic musicians can meet each other. Something similar may exist so understanding where you fit in is important (i haven't done my research).
Finally, I think there's trend for independent musicians to be self-sustaining. How can you build a platform where musicians can be self-sustaining? Therefore, does the curation piece of your website now become a vehicle for marketing and something bigger in the future?

Nice job! It's very hard to monetize curated directories. If you have enough traction you could add a jobs board focused on music technology jobs or send out a weekly a sponsored newsletter. Or maybe try to work out some partnerships with the listed vendors.
