Is translating other people's article permissible?

Hello IH,

I want to grow my audience by creating a niche curated content blog. The audience is not using English on a daily basis. So, I'm thinking to curate articles from English, translating it, post on my blog, and still put the link to the original article. Is it permissible to do that?

This just a guess but it feels like the ethical answer at least.

No, it’s not okay. Not without permission.

That being said, if you contacted these people and told them what you were thinking about perhaps they could see the benefit in reaching an audience they might not otherwise. It could even become a regular thing if they continue to see benefits.

    Just a thought.

Interested to see how it pans out for you!

Yeah, I'm asking this because maybe there's an ethical issue. Apparently, there it is. I think it would be better to contact the blogger itself before I translate it.
