Is trying to grow a twitter account worth the time? Is there any data on what percentage of my Twitter followers will see any given tweet?

Hey guys. I'm curious what your experiences with twitter marketing are.

I don't normally use twitter just for fun - seems like a waste of time, and it could be pretty addicting, and terrible for my mental health overall, so I don't want that.

But I'm working on a project that seems like it would be a good fit for being marketed on twitter, if twitter marketing actually works.

I think I could get used to posting on twitter regularly, and I have a bunch of ideas for things I could tweet. But I'd want to use it in a healthy way, so I wouldn't be consuming other people's tweets or checking notifications, just writing my tweets in advance and scheduling them to be posted at optimal times, for content marketing purposes only.

Do you think it's worth investing time in this? What's your experience with twitter? Did it help you to grow your project?

It depends on what you expect out of doing so. Want to promote a product that is targeted at Twitter users? Want to build a community that maybe brings you new job opportunities? Then absolutely go for it.

For everything else, it probably isn't the best marketing venue.

Twitter is not just about posting, it's about creating community, and you do that by posting good content and also engaging with the content of others.

Doing Twitter right does take time but it's totally worth it. I use it to promote my SEO tool katlinks.io, my SEO newsletter, and of course, my personal brand.

I'm not saying that your approach won't work, but if you want to make the most out of Twitter, you may need to do more than just post tweets.
