Twitter is a great platform to build your business. I've literally seen people grow on Twitter and generate 100% of their revenue with just Twitter.
If you manage to gain true fans, they will help you grow and reach 1000s of your potential customer (if they are on Twitter). And if you are into SaaS then you should definitely focus on Twitter.

That's great to know @heyanantj, thanks for sharing! Could you please share some effective tactics for Twitter marketing for SaaS?

  2. 3

Yes Best for Marketing. For increasing your MRR best is build your product in public on twitter.

  3. 3

Highly depends on your audience. If they spend their time there, you should do it too. I am using Tweet Deck to help me track mentions.

    1. 1

How? I find TweetDeck very unintuitive

      1. 1

They are undergoing a revamp. Might be worth a try again?

  4. 2

It boils down to your target audience or the user persona you want to chase after. If they exist there (which is most likely because of how vast the platform is), it is definitely worth exploring.

    1. 1

      @vd that's true!

  5. 2

The fact that I have to pay for Twitter these days in order for folks to see me is just awful!

    1. 1

I understand your frustration with the need for paid visibility on Twitter. Can you share your experience with paid promotion and whether it has yielded positive results for your marketing efforts on this platform?

  6. 2

    Yes!

If you're building in public the proper way, is by far the best social media to build while marketing at the same time.

    1. 1

That's great to know, @juanfrank77! I'd love to hear more about the best tactics you've found for building in public on Twitter.

      1. 2

I want to say first that you have to know where your audience spends most time on. Because building in public is not a magic bullet to get clients.

What it does, however, is to help combine the development with the marketing. So you can loop people in and get feedback to be shaping up the product into a much better version than it otherwise would without the audience involvement.

        1. 1

Thank you for sharing your insights, @juanfrank77! I agree that building in public is not a guaranteed way to acquire clients, but it does provide a valuable opportunity to involve your audience in the development process.

Yes, I believe Twitter is a good place to spend time on for marketing. It is a social media platform that allows businesses to connect with potential customers and promote their products or services.

Here are some of the benefits of using Twitter for marketing:

    1. Reach a large audience: Twitter has over 330 million active users, which means that you have the potential to reach a large audience with your marketing efforts.

    2. Target your audience: You can target your tweets to specific demographics, interests, and even locations. This means that you can ensure that your tweets are seen by the people who are most likely to be interested in your products or services.

    3. Engage with customers: Twitter is a great way to engage with customers and get feedback on your products or services. You can use Twitter to answer questions, respond to comments, and start conversations with your customers.

    4. Drive traffic to your website: You can use Twitter to drive traffic to your website by including links in your tweets. This is a great way to increase website traffic and generate leads.

I think it's a good platform for marketing simply because we do have our target audience active there, similarly LinkedIn also brings some sign ups for us if we're regular with our content and updates.

@harshvijay, I would love to hear your insights on how you effectively leverage Twitter for marketing. Any specific strategies or tips you can share?

      1. 2

To do well on Twitter, it's important to be very active, even more than on other social media platforms.

It's not just about the number of followers you have, but also about finding your target audience and engaging with them in a way that shows how you can truly help them.

That's why I use TweetDeck—it helps me filter out relevant tweets and people in my niche, making it easier to connect and engage with them.

        1. 1

Thanks for sharing, @harshvijay, really helpful

    i find reddit better.

    1. 2

it depend upon your target audience. Professionally Twitter and Linked in is best.

      1. 1

        Exactly! I agree with you.

    2. 1

Can you expand? How do you use Reddit?

      1. 2

i simply try to help with whatever knowledge i have in the subgroups that are relevant to me. Opportunities to talk about your product comes naturally as customers literally state the problem you are trying to solve with your product. I have found much better engagement and traffic from reddit. It's not the same with twitter although i have opened the twitter account less than 10 days ago so may be data is not sufficient for me to claim this but that is my general feeling about it.

  10. 2

Indeed, colleagues are right, first you need to study your target audience in order to understand whether this platform is right for you for marketing.

  11. 2

Twitter is amazing as long as your customers are there. Or maybe if you're looking for networking with other entrepreneurs.

But be aware that (as any marketing on social media) it takes A LOT of time to get traction. That's why so many people choosing "Building" in public" as it's relatively low effort marketing strategy.

    1. 1

Thank you for sharing your insights! I'll explore the "Building in public" strategy.

  12. 2

Not just Twitter, any social media.
If you are asking which one is the best, that depends on a lot of factors like whether your products truly engage your audience or not.

  13. 2

It can be if your customers are on Twitter. We do it cause we have potential users on Twitter and we enjoy the supportive community.

    1. 1

That's great, who are your target audience? We provide B2B SaaS and our potential users are startup founders and sales teams

      1. 2

        "and sales teams"

I don't use it, but would LinkedIn be a better option for your marketing efforts? A lot of people seem to be talking about it but for me and my project it doesn't seem like it would be useful (targeting first-time travelers going to Europe, not businesses).

        1. 2

Our target audience are content creators, luckily Twitter has a lot of those.

@rupalsaini_truebase definitely sounds like you could do both Twitter for solopreneurs (with the established #indiehacker and #buildinpublic communities) AND LinkedIn for sales people on companies. Good thing is that you can repurpose content from one to another and post it in both places.

@Scotalia For first time travelers, you should look into Facebook groups and subreddits targeted for first time travelers. There's a clear niche for first time female solo travelers that have good communities around them that might be good to embed yourself into.

          1. 2

Thanks! I definitely spend a lot of time on travel subreddits, but I don't use Facebook for anything, not even personal. I'll look into it, thanks!

          2. 1

Thanks for your input, @ctrl_alt_launch! It's a great idea to leverage both Twitter and LinkedIn for marketing, especially with the ability to repurpose content across platforms. Appreciate the insight!

    of that's why

I want to integrate into any project, SaaS, and backend. I code in JavaScript and Python, using Node.js, Nest.js, and Django. For databases, I work with ORM, Prisma, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. If any startup is interested, I am happy to work for free. We can discuss to gauge my level and review the projects I have worked on. I am at an intermediate level.
