I switched from Wordpress to Webflow. Much happier with Webflow.
I've tried 20+ page builders and WP + Elementor, as bloated as it is, is still the easiest option and the one that allows the most flexibility.
I'm pretty hyped about Framer Sites. But let's see where that goes.
I'm still waiting for a decent React visual page builder that I can hook up to a headless CMS easily.
Interesting observation. Would be nice if you could do a post comparing the top 3 builders with pros/cons, most of the articles I tried to find on the internet on this are clearly biased.

IMO many are doing things right, but they're either:
I think there's a sweet spot that none of these managed to nail yet.
Something like Bubble that allows you to handle complex flows and code integration, with Elementor's visual editing architecture, would be my ideal builder.
Your Airtable is a good overview, thanks! Something important to note for me as a freelancer is the overall popularity on the client side and therefore market size. Lots of companies for example WANT WP sites, and that basically leaves me with Elementor mostly. Webflow is starting to become requested as well though.
Depends what you are trying to do.
The 3 I like in order of simple to complex are:
Carrd -> Softr -> WP.
There's a few others but I think between those 3, you'll be able to get 1 that works.

We have had customers who got hacked and then the hacker demanded BTC to unlock their WP website.
Also nearly every WP site i check is so slow.
With Versoly all sites are static so a lot harder to hack. We also handle backups etc.

From a marketer (that doesn't code) the flexibility and marketplace for developers weighs in WordPress' favour, but there are plenty of alternative options out there that breakdown WordPress and go after a niche within the market. So, very much depends on what you want type of website you want to build, what you want to get out of the website (e.g. leads, ecommerce, newsletter signups, etc.) and what the critical features are for you. I'd say with the alternatives I've looked at or tried (Ghost.org, Hubspot, Unbounce, Wix, etc.) all have pros and cons.

I am a bit tired of wordpress (and the plugins) being frequently hacked and requiring updates. My security monitoring reminds me every week how many attempts to upload malicious code and to login have taken place. I now started building with typedream, which is pretty but takes quite some time and still has some bugs.
Depending what you want to do, a rather unknown website builder is odoo. Formerly known as openerp they have 7m users, 2000 staff and are worth 2bn. They offer one app for free (eg website incl custom domain) and hope that one day you update to use one of their many apps for pos, HR, inventory, helpdesk, appointments and many more. With two or more apps you have to pay. They have decent templates too.
Have a try and report back. :-) I think their website builder is comparable to Wix or squarespace, just that they are not well known and outside the silicon valley hype.
I'm in the WordPress camp as that is what I know. It also depends on your future needs and platform tie in.
WordPress can be put nearly everywhere, whereas other site builders might struggle if needed feature in the future they can't do.
I am also biased as I do web hosting. Including dedicated a WordPress platform with the divi theme.
However if you have no WordPress experience then it just comes down to what you need now vs long term.

If you need a stupid, simple landing page, Carrd is worth trying
If you like having tons of design customization, then webflow
If you like having something that looks clean, is expensive, but fills most needs then squarespace
Wix is another website builder, but I haven’t used it much
