Is your brand "invisible" to AI search? (I built a tool to audit GEO)

Hey fellow hackers,

We’ve all spent years obsessing over Google’s blue links. But lately, I’ve noticed a shift in my own behavior: I’m asking DeepSeek and ChatGPT for product recommendations way more than I’m clicking page 1 of Search.

This got me thinking: If someone asks an LLM for "the best tool for X," does my brand even show up? And if it doesn't, why?

I spent the last few weeks digging into RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) and how these AI models "cite" sources. It turns out, traditional SEO isn't enough anymore. We’re entering the era of GEO (Generative Engine Optimization).

To solve this for myself, I built OranGEO (https://geo.photog.art/ai).

What it does: It essentially acts as a "Search Console" but for AI engines. It audits how your brand is perceived and mentioned across ChatGPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, and Grok.

What I’ve learned so far building this:

  • DeepSeek is surprisingly picky: It loves structured data and academic-style citations more than "marketing fluff."

  • The "Visibility Score" is volatile: A single high-authority mention can swing an AI's recommendation bias overnight.

  • Competitor "Poaching": I've seen cases where an AI mentions a brand but then links to a competitor’s comparison page.

I need your feedback: I’m still refining the scoring algorithm. If you have a SaaS or a personal brand, I’d love for you to give it a spin.

  1. Does the Visibility Score feel accurate to you?

  2. Are there any other AI engines (maybe Perplexity or Claude) you’re dying to track?

I’m offering free deep-scans for the IH community today—just drop your link in the comments or try it out directly.

Let’s figure out this GEO thing together.

Cheers JasmineChZI
