Is your employer aware about your side hustle?
Some employers have a serious problem with their employees spending time doing side projects. It's even mentioned in the contract that they are are not allowed to have any other businesses on the side.
Do you have a similar problem? How are you bypassing it?
My employer is also my angel investor. Fuck people who think they own you because you work in their company. They own you for 40 hours which is what they paid for.

And it's something. Your employer being your investor. I wish we all had such employers.
Talk about it with your employer and see if you can carve out language in your employment contract that doesn't preclude what you want (side projects, business, etc.). For software companies, the concern is typically around protecting intellectual property and guarding against competitive business activity, as long as those concerns are addressed, you might to able to work something out.
If your employer is unreasonable, then you might have to consider leaving the job.
If you don't want to leave, and you feel there's a risk of your employer taking legal action against you, I'd say talk to a lawyer and see what your options are. If you're not using company resources and operating in a different business sector you might be ok.. but that depends on the specifics of your contract and a lawyer is the best person to give you advice here.
Usually your contract will say you can't have a side business in direct competition with your employer (which is fair enough because it's a conflict of interest). I would never sign a contract saying I can't do anything. That's just a dick move
