It took 17 years for Reddit to add search to comments

What's the story behind this? Why not for the first 17 years and why now?

For those thinking: Why did it take so long?

Simple it is better for reddit, users create more content if they can't find existing answers or posts. How often do you find yourself lose a good thread? Good! Because now you create a new one!

It took us 6 years to build update password feature :)
