It was a mistake to hire a designer and a developer to develop my own landing page.

The tools to create things, like a landing page, are much more accessible than they used to be.

Save your time on things that are not CORE to your product or mission. With that said, Marty Cagan and others (including myself) view your website as part of your product.

Even if the people you hire successfully build the page, you will still need to maintain it, which means you depend on others to keep your product alive.

I would invest the time to learn how to build the website or find someone on your team who can take that responsibility (like a technical/product co-founder). I hope this helps.

In my experience, people charge a lot of money for something that is so easy to do your self these days. WordPress, Wix etc has become so user-friendly and easy for complete novices to sue.

I highly recommend checking out landing page builders like webflow, elementor for wordpress, wix etc.

You won't get the exact vision right but that won't be the reason people buy/sign up. Find something generic that is roughly correct for what you are doing, tailor it a bit more with relevant images and text and just launch it.

Landing pages are an 80/20 effort kinda thing where 20% of the effort will give you 80% of the conversion.

I would be cautious with this one.. IMO this is a trap for most entrepreneurs.

Anyone can 'build' a landing page with said tools, but creating a page that converts and gets results is completely different. Copy that converts is worth significantly more then any technical work in regards to a landing page.

If they are just doing the technical setup then I can understand you annoyance :)

Hey David! Sorry to hear that man. Designing new landing pages can be pretty difficult and expensive. Launch dates are super important for us because if the LP is delayed you can lose out on all the extra leads, deals, signups etc.

Any reason that it didnt workout? I would guess a landing page is quite simple to take 2 weeks?

Good freelancers are hard to find, good and affordable ones are even harder.

On top of that, it was stressful to work with some freelancers.
