I recently decided to create a promotional video for my side project, and I wanted to share my experience with you all. I had never made a promotional video before. Creating a promotional video can be daunting, but it can also be a lot of fun and a great way to showcase your product or service.
The process of creating a promotional video starts with figuring out what you want to say and how you want to say it. I spent some time brainstorming ideas and refining my message before I even started filming. Once I had a clear idea of what I wanted to convey, I began writing 、recording、editing.
I'm happy to say that my promotional video is complete, and I’m pleased with the final product. I'm confident that it will be a great tool for promoting my side project and reaching a wider audience.
The tools I used:
- Canva - for text animation
- Screen Studio - for recording screens
- CapCut - for editing the video
Overall, creating a promotional video was a great learning experience for me. I learned a lot about video production and gained valuable skills that I can apply to future projects. I'm excited to see what impact my promotional video will have on my side project, and I hope it helps me reach my goals.

The video looks good and professional. Good job!😉 Since you already have video experience I suggest you also add a demo video with voice-over. It should not take you a lot of time.
Personally, I prefer video explainers/demos instead of promotional videos because if a product is new demo will deliver me more information about it.

It's important for a promotional video to be clear and concise in order to effectively communicate the purpose and benefits of the product or service being advertised.
Being to the point is also beneficial as it allows the viewer to quickly understand the key points and take in the information without feeling overwhelmed. It's great that your video does these things well.

Just my opinion:
Overall video look is good, but it lacks something important.
Having your voice-over in between explaining the process/feature will be really good.
Otherwise, it's hard to stick to that video because I got lost in beginning few seconds itself.

I totally concur with those suggesting to add voice-over. More generally, I found the rapid zooming/panning distracting and the movements too quick (and not zoomed in enough for me to see precisely what was happening), so that I never fully understood what I was seeing. In effect, I learned something from the headings and virtually nothing from the rest of the video content.

I'm working on a product that's aiming to make it super easy for IH's and small businesses to create product, sales and marketing videos using templates and themes made by professional motion designers. I'm still validating the idea and hope to release an alpha version in the new year (quick plug: kinematic.video)
I'm interested to learn more about how long it took you to make the video and what the potential cost was for your time. There are some great free tools out there (also mentioned by others below) but they still have a learning curve and take time to master.

Hi there, in the title you say "It works", I'm curious to know, how many users did you attract with this video? How many converted? Where are you posting these ads and how much are you spending?
Very nice Robert! I've been searching for a suite of tools to make videos about our SaaS as well. CapCut seems nice! I also found fable.app for easy-to-do motion graphics.
You could even re-purpose your video to a lot of smaller, one-feature based videos and market them to the specific people who need that feature the most. For instance, I would be intrigued just by the ability to group tabs – which would most likely make me visit your website.

I just checked it out and it looks good. Quickly showcases the different ways you can manage the tabs. I've also been thinking about adding a short explainer video about my product as the trailer for my YouTube channel. To start, it would just be voice over with me doing a quick screen share demo, but yeah one day I would like something that has a slick look like this video.
