I've built dozens of apps over the years all earning the same exact amount of money: $0.00.
I have a very successful tutoring business that's allowed me to build stuff for free and for fun, but I want to feel that rush of some random stranger online paying me for one of my products.
I recently had a nice launch of Escape the Algorithm on Product Hunt (#3 app of the day), but I didn't monetize it at all. I want to ideally only spend time building products that actively make people happier, smarter, and more fulfilled with their time online.
Any advice or stories to share on your first $1 earned with a product?
It might not work for you if you already have existing users, but at Dating Kit we ran a beta program to test bugs and features with real users before an official release. We were able to leverage that relationship at the end of the beta period to onboard those users and make money from the official day 1 which was very exciting.
