I've finally "finished" my first indie hacker project, and I thank this community for it
Hello folks, this is my first post, I'm sorry I too excited for finally "finishing" up a project. I have always started projects and then ended not finishing them up.
I'd like to start thanking @brunocalou, because he introduced me to IH.
I'd also like to thank every person that has posted their story here. Those stories worked as fuel for a little spark that existed inside me, to build something of my own.
I'm also grateful for @csallen and the people he invited to IH Podcast, it was great listening to their stories whilst working on some freelancing project.
Lastly, I'd like to thank those projects that made me realize that I could in fact build something from the ground up. I've never had done this, every company I worked for already had their project set up, so I just had to add/remove features/bugs ;)
So, after a few hours (and days :P), I have a first version of PassAlong.info. The goal is to help anyone that has some sort of project, it could be investments, crypto or a system that only this person knows how to operate. They can store information like "how does system X works" so that a person that they trust can continue with that. The information is only passed to that person if the owner does not log in once a month.

The idea of knowledge management is something I’ve been implementing in organisations for many years.
Typically, let’s say a manufacturing business is quite easy as you can have standard operating procedures (SOPs)
I use a combination of LogSeq, Trello, and notion additionally with playbooks etc., to manage my knowledge for my various companies.
Is knowledge management something you’ve tagged/identified this project against? It seems to be totally aligned, and has huge potential to go down that route.

Thank you @AdamIsaacsRae. I haven't thought about it from that perspective. One way to exemplify is to think about it like a trust, and people you assigned the information, and only them, will be able to access it only if you don't access that data anymore. But we can definitely talk through that path as well, maybe we can build something together :)
@antoniocfrai good analogy as a trust! I like it. Information access on as least as possible is a good approach.

I can get a copy of it if you want to take a proper look, this could even turn into something used to align to that.
Wow this is a really cool idea, can't believe I've never seen anything like this before. With more and more portfolios focusing on crypto and information being stored behind 2FA and more in-depth verification systems a service like this is really needed.
I hold digital assets and have a newborn daughter, I imagine I'll be a customer sooner than later.
Thank you @Ochoa. The idea came from that "trying to scratch my own itch", taking care of stuff that only I know becomes a risk that nobody (wife and kids) will not be able to keep on with. And it was the first time I could finally put something out there, I was too excited to contain myself. But I'll work on some improvements on the following days. That's really cool! I often think about this and what I could do to leave the info I want for my loved ones.
About your product, I miss information about how my inputs on the tool would be safe.
Hi @leoratzlaff, that's a great point. I think I need to improve on letting people know that the information will be stored encrypted, but more importantly, that people should not store passwords or seed phrases from crypto wallets for example. The ideia is for people to use this tool to store mainly instructions, for example, the seed phrase is on that notebook that I have on the side of my bed.
