I've revamped the website after I got some great feedback on IndieHackers and other channels - now it's your turn to roast it again (I know it's still far from perfect).
Here you go: https://www.testkit.app
Excited to see what y'all think!
A few suggestions:
You could add some text below the "Become an Early Adopter" for some social proof. Something like: "5/7 early adopter spots filled" or "2/11 early adopter spots left".
I would move the "Remember the old way?" further up, maybe below the first image.
Add 'How it works' to your navigation
Your headline is clear and everything, but I think you could make it even more clear. "Radically simplified" sounds good but is it a bit abstract. Radically simplified...in what way? Maybe try a bold headline like: "Save 5x the time by recording your E2E tests instead of writing them". Then follow by a section about the "Old way". Then follow by a section about the way your software does it and how it saves time.
Great ideas! I'll definitely consider that! Thank you so much 🔥
Your site and product look really nice! I like that it's really straight-to-the-point and super easy to read.
I'm a developer and I kind of love writing tests, so I'm always excited about new products in this space. Since it's no-code, I'm not sure if I'm in your target audience exactly. I'm also not a marketer, but I had some thoughts when I checked out your site:
What really spoke to me, was the comparison of writing test-code by hand vs. recording my actions. The current title image looked pretty generic though, it just shows a screenshot with a list of steps, which could have also come from a manually-coded-test.
I wonder if there's a way to get the 'tests writing themselves' bit above the fold. Maybe by making a nice animation / video that shows "before: coding tests", "after: recording tests with Testkit" and then "seeing Testkit run the tests".
I wonder if a title like "E2E Tests That Write Themselves" would be more specific than the current title "Radically simplified E2E Testing for web applications".
How it works:
https://imgur.com/a/huACOe8 - "Record your test" - could maybe say "Start recording". The image for me also doesn't support the idea of recording. Maybe an animation of a somebody clicking a record-button?
https://imgur.com/a/at5X56w - "Navigate through your application" - The image here is very generic I think and doesn't at all portray the idea of navigating my application. Maybe an animation of a user clicking and filling forms (tightly cut, no pauses and fast typing) with a blinking red "🔴 Recording: Login Test" HUD? Maybe as the user interacts, the animation could show how Testkit understands and writes down the interactions?
https://imgur.com/a/oPZCLGg - "Automated tests" - This one spoke pretty clearly to me, I would keep it. Connecting my git repo and having tests automatically run sounds cool. For me, it would be interesting to read more about. Maybe there can be an extra section about the CI features on your homepage?
"Supports all major browsers" - I think this is great to see quite early, as you have it right now. It says later on that you support different devices and operating systems. I'm guessing that means you can run tests on mobile devices? That's really cool and I would write about it in the "Supports all major browsers" section.
"And there's more" - You have some really cool features buried here a little bit that maybe could deserve their own section with some big imagery. For me, really interesting were:
I summary, it looks to me like you have a really cool product and you've also developed a lot of features that make this a serious tool, instead of just an MVP. For me, skimming over the page initially, I was not able to see all those cool features because they were kind of buried. I would try to highlight some of the features more. Give them dedicated sections on the page so they jump out when a user scrolls through.
Hope my thoughts help you out and good luck with your product, it's looking really good! :) 💪💪💪
That's amazing feedback there!! Thank you so much! All noted and will definitely jump on these issues in the coming weeks! 🚀
Really clean landing page! I honestly have nothing bad to say about its presentation.
About the product though, I do have concerns. A large pain point of tests is that you need maintain them and the landing page does not show how that's done. When a test is recorded... where is it stored? Do you generate code that can be put into the PR? Does everything have to be done through the app?
Yeah I should definitely work on explaining a bit more... I'll add some other pages in the coming weeks, thanks for your feedback!
Like it, makes sense to me! Also I saw the lead capture form asks for quite a bit. Works best to just reduce the fields you capture so someone can give their info with as little of a friction as possible.
Ever played with the idea of turning that hero image you have or the GIF into an interactive demo? Just giving users the powers to experience what it would look like to run the tests without having to watch a GIF?
Interactive Demo is a great idea! Will definitely look into that, right now it's too much to do though. Thanks for your feedback!
Let me know if I can help with that. Working on something that is designed to allow teams to create these interactive demos in less than 10 mins.
Might be interesting to even measure the improvent in conversion!
The design is brilliantly simple and gets the message across straight away (a nice relief compared to most SaaS landing pages).
The only thing I'd query, and it's only tangentially related to the site design is, how are you storing confidential information (credentials) or runbooks? The Privacy Policy looks boilerplate. I'd wager most people, especially B2B customers, are going to want to know how that's handled.
Unfortunately if you're shooting for the Medium to Large end of the B2B market you're going to start getting requests for ISO27001/SOC2's - a security pack/page may help.
Yeah right now I'm targeting smaller companies, startups and indies. Security certifications are on the roadmap though! Everything is stored in a secure database on render.com right now, but might change. Thanks for your feedback!
Looking good - I think to differentiate from rainforrest and the like, you might want to add niche feature such as enabling navigator media in your test, and allowing user to stub audio in place of microphone input.
Amazing ideas! Noted!
Looks good. Adding to all the already good suggestions, I would just mess a little bit with the contrast. Not sure if it's just my screen but the background is very light colored, and I would like to see the images just "pop" a little more.
Points to consider:
Having one CTA is better in my opinion so keep "Become an Early Adopter" and remove "Book a demo".
Font selection and color scheme could be improved.
"End-to-end testing is as easy as navigating through your app like a user would.
No more code, no more hassle." I would compress this part in a single sentence.
I would have included the complete image in the ATF (Above the Fold) section of landing page.
Which tool did you use to create it?
umso.com :)
