I've went overboard with this Chrome Extension - Clipity
I have long harbored the ambition to develop a browser extension that transcends the traditional concept of a bookmark. Conventional bookmarks serve well for saving entire web pages, but they fall short when it comes to preserving specific snippets of interest. Often, I found myself grappling with the inconvenience of sifting through a multitude of bookmarks just to locate a particular paragraph or piece of content. Simply renaming bookmarks proved to be a temporary and imperfect solution to this problem.
This aspiration ultimately led to the creation of Clipity, a Chrome browser extension designed to address this very issue. Clipity allows users to highlight and save text snippets directly from web pages. Upon saving, Clipity not only preserves the highlighted content but also stores a direct link to the source, ensuring effortless retrieval. This functionality resembles that of a traditional bookmark, but with the added benefit of immediate context and clarity regarding the saved content.
Furthermore, Clipity empowers users to enhance the significance of their saved snippets by attaching personal notes. This feature fosters deeper engagement and facilitates more meaningful interactions with the clipped content.
So what it currently does?

- Optionally add notes
- Choose a predefined hight colour
- Easy-to-use search
- Dark mode because why not?
Clipity will not only be an app that saves text snippet, It will do a lot more in the coming versions. Oh, it is free! For Pro (paid feature), I'm considering sync to other browsers and maybe an app but this for future. Right now, all features are saved in your current browser.
