JOMLAUNCH Asia Virtual Conference this 28th November 2020, with T-shirts sent to your home
I run a programmers' community on Facebook called JOMWEB. And we have been running JOMLAUNCH for a few years now. JOMLAUNCH is a 1-day event where we encourage programmers, developers, makers to just showcase their software / programming projects.
You know how an accelerator demo day is like?
Well, JOMLAUNCH is maybe like that but with little emphasize on business, monetization and commercial aspect. We just want to appreciate the tech, creative and genius minds among us. Developers can showcase an open source project, a personal smart home setup, a community-driven project, and of course commercial projects too.
And for 2020, we planned for a bigger thing. We also wanted to share this spirit with the rest of the world. So we planned for JOMLAUNCH Asia. We wanted to fly in speakers to share their stories. We wanted solo developers, bootstrappers, indie hackers, solopreneurs from near and far to come, meet, network and learn from each other.
Then... alas, Covid-19 hit. With so many uncertainties, we cancelled everything.
But the team was eager to do this again. So for the past one month, we decided, WTH ... let's just do it.
So here I am writing about this Virtual Conference that we are having, and also the one-week virtual festival too, in the days leading up to the Conference.
And these awesome guys have agreed to speak and share their stories:
- Kyle Gawley, who built a NodeJS boilerplate for building SaaS called Gravity.
- Takuya Matsuyama, who developed a multi-platform note-taking app to rival Evernote, and works with Markdown.
- Asep Bagja, from Indonesia who developed, and open sourced Tania, a precision farming software.
- Ryzal Yusoff, who made ReaderMode, a Chrome extension to help you focus in your reading and research
- Warren Leow, who made and automate a customizable children books ordering system at AmazingFables.com
- Fajar Sidddiq, a pro Yo-Yo athlete turned serial entrepreneur, having launched a dozen of apps and online projects.
So there it is, JOMLAUNCH Asia is back on ... virtually!
And although this is a virtual event -- you still get your T-shirt!
Some tickets come with the official JOMLAUNCH Asia T-shirt, just so that you don't feel alone at home joining this virtual event. We want to ship the T-shirts out early, so that you can wear them during the event. And you know others will be doing the same. Heck, we might be having a selfie contest too.
