Jumping on the email newsletter bandwagon. Is anyone else launching one / has recently launched one?

Planning to write about my experiences each week launching a digital detox startup (unplugged.rest). Here's a rough draft of week one:
https://unplugging.substack.com/p/2fb05cb4-8403-4ce8-adfc-86ec5cac576e

Would love to hear from anyone starting out on a similar path!

The goal:

  • Learn in public
  • Create serendipity (via an audience)

A couple of questions:

  • Any thoughts on substack vs wordpress + convertkit?
  • Is it naive to think ppl will care what I've been up to? Or does that not really matter?

@hectorghughes I wont give you all the tips at once. Here is an important one: Work on readability.

    Short sentences.

    Short.

    You know... not long.

Did I say easy to read? Yes. So also use simpler words.

Sometimes you can, ofcoure, use boisterously labyrinthinthic structures.
    It keeps it fun.

Short, sweet and simple is the main rule.

Use http://www.hemingwayapp.com/ for starters, rewrite all the red and most yellows. and try writing in active voice, you'll see the whole piece coming to life! good luck.

PS: I did restart my own newsletter: https://www.emailmonday.com/newsletter/ (It is about email marketing, so I am sure you'll want to sign up).
