Just a reminder. Check your website
The product I do in my free time is kind-of-unknown still and I don't spent much in advertisement. But... I checked Google Analytics today and realized I'm getting solid "0 views" for a whole week in a row, while I usually have at least 2-3 unique views.
I couldn't believe something may went wrong for a cloud instance with simple NGINX and node process, but it actually happened - "Kernel panic" with no reason :/
In the end it's a good lesson for me to set up simple monitoring or at least check the website once per day.
UptimeRobot's a solid free starting point. One thing worth keeping an eye on beyond basic uptime is SSL expiry and broken links - those tend to quietly break things without an obvious "site is down" alert. What's your setup for catching that kind of stuff?
We had a problem with that too, so we added that feature to Seodity. In our application you can monitor your web services for free -> Seodity Uptime Monitoring. We will also remind you about certificates and domains that are ending.
Great reminder! I usually set up something like uptimerobot.com. It's free and it will let me know if my website is down for an extended period of time.

So https://timeytim.com/task. I like that the interface is right there. Uptimerobot isn't complicated, but I do have to think about it every time. With that said - I honestly have not looked beyond uptimerobot in like 5 years, because it just does what I need and it has not failed me. I don't see a reason to switch to anything else, regardless of how good your service is. Lol, I could apply the same critic to my own product unfortunately :D

I second that. I use uptimerobot for all my projects and it's amazing.
You could also take a look at https://www.honeybadger.io/ since they are offering public status pages and ping checks
I feel sorry for your technical troubles.
I use my blog as a personal notebook and reference guide when doing tricky stuff, so I'll notice it quickly enough. The same thing with the Skyhop website, which I use as the starting point of my marketing effort (sharing blogs, or certain documentation pieces).
In the past I have had the same issues, but now it's part of my workflow those are gone, and I'll never build an website again which I won't use myself :)
