Just crossed 100 users in 1 week!

So a week ago today I launched my first first solo app, ReelCalm (http://reelcalmapp.com), and I woke up today to see I have hit my first milestone, 100 users! I currently have 109 users and I'm so stoked! I know it's not a huge amount, but for a pretty niche app, it's a milestone that I'm happy to have hit relatively early. I have hopes of this app getting into the thousands of users eventually, but I know that will take time. I haven't done any crazy promotion, just Instagram, Facebook, and twitter to friends and family (I have a pretty small following so not a huge reach), as well as ProductHunt (100+ upvotes on day 1). I've been so surprised at the amount of support I've received, from old friends, to friends of friends who I've never met sharing it on their feeds.

I was so nervous launching my first app, but I'm more excited now than I've ever been to build more features into ReelCalm (current version was more an MVP, I have lots more ideas) and build more products. I'm currently deep into development of my next idea now, and I could not be more inspired.

I gotta say, I finally understand the joy and excitement of being an indie hacker, and I can't wait to build more and be more part of this awesome community of people building awesome things.

Thanks for inspiring me IH!

Congrats, looks good. the first few hundred users are awaits exiting, it may be helpful to others to share what user acquisition channels you are using.

This is a very cool idea. Congratulations. Maybe one monetisation strategy is to go to the film distributors to get them to mark triggers in their films so it can display some kind of self-certified badge for a fee. A way for those distributors to show they care about their audience. Depends on the size of your audience.

Thinking about bodies like the BBFC who give ratings for films in the UK you're like an odd hybrid of regulation and private venture but it exposes the clear and immediate benefit to the consumer.

Thats a great idea, thanks! I'll keep that in mind moving forward

Congrats! The landing page looks beautiful. One small typo: "Join RealCalm today" at the bottom, instead of "ReelCalm".

    Inspired name choice too!

    Congrats, Sean !

How are you planning to convert these users into paid users?

I’m not quite sure at the moment. The idea wasn’t really intended to make a lot of money, it was more of a project I wanted to do to help people. I have a donation page set up in the app where users can donate to the developer via in app purchase. Long term though I’ll have to come up with a plan if the community gets really large.
