Just finished version two of our landing page. What do you all think?

Nice clean design, pleasant colors. Two little things:

    1. Your logo is really close to Mastercard (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mastercard#/media/File:Mastercard_2019_logo.svg). Obviously there's nothing new under the sun, but I think this is pushing it.

    2. This is a admittedly language-elitist of me, but "20-40% of churn happens on accident" should be "20-40% of churn happens by accident. " or maybe something like "is accidental."

    Good job though!

Your landing page design looks great. And I like your product idea.
However, in the page I couldn't find how your product actually works and what it does technically.
So my advice, is to add a description of how your product works, because people need to imagine how it works, so they can trust you and later buy.

I really like this landing page! What did you use to build it? My only suggestion: instead of saying "automate recovery of your failed payments", would it read better to say "recover your failed payments automatically"? I know that's not exactly what you're trying to say, but reads better to me for some reason...

    1. 2

I agree. "Recover your failed payments automatically" rolls off the tongue better and therefore is easier to read. Also, saying it this way seems to minimize the amount of perceived work users have to do to reap the benefits of this app. Telling someone to "automate" something sounds like a big scary task; it sounds like the user has to create the logic (ie code) to do so, almost like you are encouraging them to use your platform as a tool to do it themselves, rather than offering a tool that does it for them.

This is great feedback - thank you both

    1. Looks clean/professional at first look.
    2. I personally really dislike the stock art with the humans looking at graphs, feels like every website is using the same images/style. Feels cheap.
    3. AUTOMATIC FAILED PAYMENTS RECOVERY
I am using Paddle and I think they do this for free. I don't understand how it integrates with the payment provider. Who is this for?

    1. 1

Hey Christian - thanks for the feedback, and I totally agree with the stock art. Trying to use it for now then upgrade once we have the budget for it.

This is similar to Paddle (Proftwell Retain). When I checked last, they don't do this for free, and they take a percentage of the recurring revenue they help collect. We're trying to offer a similar service but start at a lower fixed price to attract more indie hackers and operators at smaller SaaS companies

Please fix the grating typo above the fold:

"The bad news: A large fraction of your customers cancel because of due to expired credit cards, insufficient funds, or bank issues."

    1. 2

Good catch! Thanks for flagging that

    2. 1

...but overall it's a very pleasant landing page!

I have a SaaS that uses PayPal, and most of the time I invest in running it is chasing after customers for their new credit card numbers. I really hate doing that.

Please integrate with PayPal soon! :)

      1. 2

We'll add it to our roadmap now

I think you will have a problem with Master Card Logo, is very similar(mostly identical)

  7. 1

Super clean! Like it. I saw it after the amendments were made that people pointed out here, and it feels pretty solid.

  8. 1

It makes me kind of dizzy ngl. I wonder if the first image should move around and the others should stay still.

  9. 1

I really like it, I personally am a fan of the animations.

In terms of content/messaging, I would say it starts great with problem/solution but then it gets confusing as in how exactly are you going to do it and more broader explanation.

I browsed it same as a potential prospect would, scanning for key messages and that's how it felt to me.

    So, I would say:

    • design : Great
    • copy : maybe a bit of massaging?

    Hope this is helpful!

    1. 1

Thanks! I agree I need to play around with the copy and shorten the message. I'm also thinking I should bold some keywords to make it easier to scan

  10. 1

Personally, I like the "white space" and the overall design.

Not sure how much latitude Web Flow gives you to tweak things, however, I noticed room for improvement after running a Google Lighthouse report.

    Performance 88/100
    Accessibility 93/100
    Best Practices 92/100

Hope this is helpful! : )

    1. 1

This is helpful - I'll look into how we can improve those

  11. 1

LGTM. How did you created it? are the illustration images from your product? I guess its webflow?

    1. 1

Thanks - yep those are from our product team as they build out the MVP

  12. 1

    I really like it.
Did you build it using Wordpress? It loads very fast and is very smooth.

  13. 1

Really excellent landing page. Looks very professional. And I like the idea behind the business itself. Best of luck with it.

  14. 1

Pretty nice looking landing page, and really cool idea for a service! I have 3 main critiques:

    1. The background (and all the whitespace) is blinding! Even though it looks worse, I much, much prefer viewing this website with the Dark Reader extension enabled. When pages are this bright, my initial reaction is to get off the website immediately.

    2. I think your value statement at the top of the page is redundant. I'd remove "The bad news" and change "A large fraction of your customers cancel because of expired credit cards, insufficient funds, or bank issues." to a sub-heading of "10% of your MRR is at risk." The "10% of your MRR is at risk." is the bad news. The "The bad news" interrupted my comprehension of what Subrecovery is because I thought I had already read the bad news. I think it's fine to keep "The good news", though, as it is not redundant and it highlights the contrast between the problem and your solution.

    3. Change "This is avoidable, and we can help automate..." to "This is avoidable. Subrecovery can automate...". I say this for 2 reasons. Firstly, the full stop after this is avoidable adds emphasis on this point and reads better (in my opinion). Secondly, I would like to see the name of the app, Subrecovery, repeated here. I think the repetition in this case is good for brand building. It helps your user remember the name of your app and associate the name with increasing revenue and reducing hassle for them. Also, and this may just be a personal thing, but in this case I would trust an app more than I would a team of humans I've never met. Using the name of the app emphasizes that the app is doing the work, rather than a team of people (the "we") behind the scenes that are more error-prone and are probably not working 24/7.

    Overall, nice site :)

    1. 2

Maybe turn down your screen brightness? 😆 - The vast majority of websites use a white background, how do you deal with that?! Edit: I'm not trying to be a dick - I just wouldn't say that this website is more bright than the rest of the internet.

      1. 1

Maybe it's just the dark-mode-loving developer in me, but I generally think a large part of the internet is too bright. How do I deal with that? Dark Reader chrome extension. It's free and does an excellent job (on most websites) of turning them to dark mode automatically by changing all the colors to be easier on the eyes. It's not perfect, so there are some times that I have to toggle it off for a specific website to be able to see everything properly, but generally, it solves this problem for me.

        1. 1

Totally fair! It's a reasonable preference. I generally like dark sites, but I actually don't like reading lots of white text on dark backgrounds, so text-heavy is better in a light theme for my eyes. To each their own!

  15. 1

    Look great and impress, bro!

  16. 1

Great design. Clear messaging... I was able to understand with one scroll through what your company is about. well done.

    1. 1

      I agree! Great work :)

  17. 1

Beautiful design! On the main page it suggest insufficient fund churn is avoidable, does you product predict this ?

    1. 2

Not the initial version, but the plan is to build prediction models as we get more data to base it off

      1. 1

That makes sense! Best of luck :)
