Just got $175,000 seed funding to make AI music!

Our small two-founder startup, focusing on making AI-generated Music just got our last deposit of $25K from friends and family investors.

You can try it out here: Strofe.com

Background

I quit my job as an Engineering Manager and went on to do my own Landing Page builder first as a solopreneur.

Eventually I got word of a few friendly investors we know to build AI music (at the time it sounded crazy and amazing).

My friend (and previously Senior Director of Engineering in the same company) got very interested, he quit, and we decided to give it a go.

Biggest challenges

Competition seems to be focused on creating royalty-free music instead of uniquely generated music, which is what we are doing -- hence our music is as diverse as random numbers can be, free of copyright and DMCA takedown.

My friend's strong background in Backend + Music theory (he's a musician but more than that he's insane -- he'll devour a book about jazz theory in a few weeks if need be) has helped us get the eye balls from a few interested people.

Myself, I am not too bad in React 😉 and creating a full-fledged music editor using Javascript and Web Audio APIs was quite challenging.

Here's how the React-based web editor looks:

Feel free to ask me anything or leave any comment!

Try out to make a tune and let me know what you think! (note: if you try it on desktop the editor is just as the screenshot above)
