Hi IH Crew ππ½ -
First time making a landing page and the first time selling a digital product via Google Sheets and Gumroad. ππ½
https://jobindecision.xyz/
Landing page made in carrd.co
I like the heading - nice! Wonder if you could use fewer words to get the point across more clearly? eg:
Could you also do the same for the solution? You could move "THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO FIGURING OUT WHAT MATTERS TO YOU IN A JOB." up a couple of sections to help do this, and simplify some of the images.
One thing that is lacking on the page is the problem. The solution is quite clear, but why would I want to use a spreadsheet to solve this in the first place? How can I tell if this would work for me or not? How can I qualify myself as a user?
Could you put the pricing on the landing page too, rather than having to click through?
Thank you @apuchitnis, this is great feedback!
I didn't even occur to me to make the problem statement more obvious, so I'll need to think on this. Off the cuff, here is what I've got:
Answer: This spreadsheet will help you think through all the facets of a job offer that you should be weighing and considering outside of just pure compensation.
Problem: People make huge life decisions on limited information without reason. They go off of a gut feeling instead of logic and that doesn't always end well.
Answer: This is right for you have you're making a career move, have a significant other who will be affected by your decision, or have a relocation.
Problem: You're making a big life decision and need help. You have other people who are counting on you and you care more about just a pure compensation number.
Answer: You're a potential user if you're considering changing jobs or are in the process of interviewing/offer period.
Problem: You're not prepared to have an informed conversation about your potential future job or career move with a new employer your current employer.
Now, how good any of these are, I have no idea π
Nice - this, condensed, could lead to a very compelling value proposition.
One idea (which you're very welcome to ignore) - I see your spreadsheet acting like a career coach almost, which is something people already spend $$$ on. Perhaps you could use that kind of language on your page: "coach", "guide" etc?
Definitely have a look at Harry Dry's marketing tips on landing pages, I think it'd be very helpful, particularly #4: https://www.indiehackers.com/post/my-twitter-account-reached-100-000-heres-7-of-my-favourite-marketing-tips-and-a-little-story-dcc40fbedf
This is awesome feedback, thank you so much for being so detailed here!
I tried to capture as much as I could as I redesigned the landing page to look like a more real landing page.

So much better - awesome job! πͺ
Looks very polished now. Very happy to give more feedback if you'd like, just ask.
