It's not much, but it's kinda cool! My project github.com/tomquirk/linkedin-api just hit 300 stars. It feels good to provide something useful to the community. Sometimes, money isn't everything, and it's easy to forget this as indie hackers trying to build financial independence.
Do you think working on open source is worth it? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Another star from me :) Awesome work. It was such a headache trying to get access to the API I am for sure going to give this a go. Great work.
Cheers! Let me know if you need any help
Cool! Stories like this from open sourcers are awesome :)
I’ve been working on open source and the most stars I’ve gotten was on my emoji search tool. I recently got a new idea. Could I have your feedback?
Thanks :D
I left some feedback @BraydenTW!
Saw it, thanks so much!
When you start finding happiness in giving back to the community, that's when you are truly happy with your existence!
Great work on the Linkedin API, @tomquirk!
Thanks Harsh! I have mixed feelings - it is a bit of a grind maintaining something for free. But at the same time, it's nice to give back.
Haha agreed on that.
Just a quick question- have you faced any concerns from users regarding typing in their password to set this up?
Nah, not really. People understand the risk their taking for the most part
Ahh I see that. Interesting.
Congratulations. You have 1 more star. Cool idea.
Cheers Ryan!
