Hey Hackers,

Today marks a new chapter for Micro (formerly JustFitness).

Before, I want to extend a huge thank you to @csallen and @channingallen for building this outstanding community. We're thrilled to have you both back in indie mode.

I've been a dedicated listener of the show since there were only five episodes. My work commutes and flights to a job site included those insightful interviews and invaluable lessons learned. Without the podcast and this inspiring community, I would not have garnered the motivation to act and pursue my own project.

My post history shows that I started with almost no technical ability. It took multiple deep dives into various fields and many more restarts to get it right. Most importantly, I learned to cultivate discipline and persevered to finally be able to say the dream of building a real-time, cross-platform workout tracker is finally a reality. The challenge of this endeavor has transformed my life in a few unexpected ways. For instance, I quit playing video games, cancelled all of my streaming service subscriptions, and live minimally in silence. My leisure time is spent working out and reading books about business and philosophy. You can check out my reading list here.

The most valuable insight I've gained for far, is that the journey itself will teach you everything you need to know, or it'll kill you. Literally. The threat of death in IT and entrepreneurship is negligible at best. Remember, we're not trying to become prizefighters here; we're just directing electrical signals across the planet. This perspective effectively eliminates any excuse to not press forward. As for the so-called imposter syndrome, there's really no such thing. The difference between an expert and a novice is in the size of mistake collection.

Elsie (Sales & Marketing) and I (Technical) as Co-Founders are excited to help bring Indie Hackers back to its roots as a source of inspiration and support. We've watched this website go from a tight-knit group of people sharing ideas and insight to a cesspool of, lacking a better term, "hustle bros" using this platform as nothing more than a marketing channel. Shortly after she and I teamed up, we left because the signal-to-noise ratio completely destroyed its heart. It's not like we had a meeting about it or anything. It just happened; but the announcement of your return gives us hope for the future of this space. We want to share our story here specifically to show others that you don't need VC funding, or large amounts of money to escape the 9-to-5 grind. We're small, Indie, and we like it that way.

So, once again, thank you, @csallen, @channingallen, and the wider Indie Hacker community. We hope our story inspires others to relentlessly pursue their dreams.
