Very nice execution of this simple idea! I started using it for my daily meds. The built-in functionality for this in Apple Health does not work very well for me so I'm glad there are options. The phone call option is a streak of brilliance I think, I've never seen this in any other app before.

A very nice idea, I especially liked the approach with the mascot - it adds a sense of care and makes the process less routine. It's cool that everything is hand-drawn - it feels individual. The reward system (stars, new reactions) is a nice gamification that can really help you remember to take your medication. Of the improvements - perhaps add a function for tracking several medications with different schedules and simple export/backup of data (locally, of course, if the focus is on privacy). Overall - a very warm and humane application, makes you smile.

Thanks for the kind words and suggestions! Appreciate it :)

This is such a clever take on habit tracking. Love the mascot vibe. Have you tested different escalation tones in reminders (friendly versus strict)? Would be interesting to see A/B results on retention!

Would love to know more about how reminders are handled (e.g., push notifications, recurring schedules)

You can commercialize this but not on this interface make it simpler modern to look but it is definitelly cool! I am on Ritalin and you can expand to ADHD community fast and YouTubers will help you to promote it ! and Doctors as well honestly I would like to be involve to promote your app in Australia! :-)

    Hey there!

I’ve been working on a tool that combines startup theory with real case studies to surface recommendations for early-stage businesses. I’m not an expert in your field, but these ideas look reasonable to me from my own experiences. I think you're asking for feedback, so I'm going to ship it! 🚢

🧭 Lean Into What Makes You Feel Different
The core functionality (pill reminders) is commodity — but your tone is what makes you special.

    You’ve built something that feels:

    • Emotionally warm (“Tamagotchi for your meds” is spot-on)
    • Visually inviting (users mention calming design, delightful animations)
    • Behaviorally sticky (streaks, stars, and phone calls = high accountability)
    • Some copy and positioning tweaks could help:

Instead of “cute mascot that reminds you,” try:
👉 “Your meds buddy. He celebrates you when you’re consistent — and gently nags when you’re not.”

    Use benefit-first phrasing:
👉 “Finally, a meds tracker that makes you want to take your meds.”

You might test a few variations of this tone with an AI tool — it’s surprisingly good at reframing utility around emotions.

🔁 Your Phone Call Feature Is a Secret Weapon
One reviewer basically said: “I ignore most notifications — but PillBuddy calls me. That works.”

That’s gold. Consider ways to build around this:

    • Add a light “accountability level” setting — users choose tone + escalation (e.g. “quiet nudge → alert → mascot guilt trip → call”)
    • Use that insight in headlines:
👉 “Reminders that actually get your attention”
👉 Or even: “He’ll call you. Because your health matters that much.”
    • Try Reddit or TikTok content around “apps that literally call you” — that novelty drives clicks

🎮 You’ve Gamified It — Now Make It Personal

You’ve got streaks, mascots, and stars — users are already building habits. To deepen retention:

    • Let people name their mascot, pick moods (strict/friendly), or evolve it over time
    • Add micro-interactions post-check-in: a wink, celebration, gentle guilt
    • Offer milestone rewards: “10-day streak = unlock a custom outfit” or “Your buddy sends a postcard”
    • A future angle: seasonal mascots or “buddy shop” with optional in-app purchases if you ever go that route

Check out Finch for inspiration — they nail emotional progression without feeling like a toy.

👥 Your Early Fans Love It — Now Find More Like Them

From reviews, your wedge is people who:

    • Ignore normal notifications
    • Want a friend, not a tool
    • Take pride in being consistent once they get started

Some early traction channels to try:

    • Post before/after screenshots of the mascot’s mood on r/ADHD, r/GetDisciplined, or r/Caregiversupport
    • Run a Typeform or in-app prompt asking:
👉 “Why do you take your meds? Who are you doing it for?”
    • Responses here could drive better onboarding paths (e.g. “for me,” “for a parent,” “doctor’s orders”)

Don’t sleep on organic Twitter/X — people love cute/clever design. Even a short vid of the mascot getting annoyed would be shareable.

    I hope that's all helpful. 😅
