Hey! 👋 I've just launched a public site with an early sign-up form! Any feedback would be highly appreciated! https://pine.io
I just noticed that the pine icon doesn't get me to the top of the page.
That's a great catch, thanks! will fix soon
Awesome landing page! I could really be interested in your product. Could it be used as a personal knowledge base ?
Thanks!!
Absolutely, it depends on what exactly you want to achieve, but that's generally what I'm using it for (as well as tracking tasks and project progress).
Also, if you find something is lacking or isn't functioning the way you'd expect - just reach out and let me know!
Good to hear. I'm using this kind of product mostly to have a technical knowledge base. Thus, I need to paste code snippets and stuff like that. A great code formatting support and maybe even search functionality would be great.
So neither code blocks nor a global search will be in the beta,
but I know how important those features are for potential users (myself included) and both will be either in version 1 or come as a near-future update after v1 is released.
Keep an eye on the changelog :)
Great stuff, I like the changelog to see how you're coming along!
Thanks! Shortly after launch, you'll also be able to request and vote for features!
Hi,
extremely nice landing page! May I ask where did you get the images? Did you create them yourself?
Considering your product, I must say that I really do not get what exactly is it about. My first impression was it is a personal organizer which can do everything :)
Best wishes
Hey, thanks!!
I found the illustrations on ui8, I can't remember what they're called exactly, but you should be able to find them (as well as other great UI resources) with a little bit of browsing.
The product is hard to describe, but you're in the ballpark :))
It is a personal organizer, it can't really do "everything", but it does combine a number of features you'd find split up amongst some other apps :)
The general idea is to allow users to use fewer apps, organize stuff in one place and avoid over cluttering with features.
The design is great. In my opinion, the copy can be improved, in particular hero's heading and subheading could be more specific. I would put a screen of the app directly in the hero, so that you can combine a detailed copy with an image of the product. The impact on the visitors is fairly greater than the illustration.
Thanks!
I definitely agree about the copy, I'm not a great writer and to be honest - I didn't spend enough time on writing.
The illustration instead of a screenshot was a conscious decision, I'm not sure if it was a good one, but I just feel it gave a more relaxed feeling. (I'm a believer that users do scroll down :)))
It's still a very valid point, I'll experiment with this in the future. Thanks!!
Love it... signed up ;)
I'm looking forward to the following features: Tags, Todos, Notes, Bookmarks.
On the other hand, I woudn't be interested in Timeline feature (if I understand it right) - I already use Calendar for such things... And I'm not sure I've picked what Habits are about, but let's see...
There are tons of similar apps out there... I've tried many of them, but none suited me. Right now, I'm using a plaintext file and simple text editor (Sublime) to organize my personal notes, bookmarks and personal todos (I use Jira for development tasks ;))... I have the file shared automatically on all my devices.... You may think it's stupid, but it's the easiest and quickest way (for me) how to write something down. So I beg Henrikas to make Pine as user friendly as possible (lot's of drag&dropping, ability to quickly write&save, minimum mouse clicks etc. ;)
Hahaha, I hear that a lot - so many apps to choose from, none of them are perfect :)) That's exactly why I started making one of my own.
Chances are it won't suit everyone like most of the other similar apps, but I do hope to at least be a great fit for some people!
As for the timeline, it's not really a calendar, it's more like "Oh today I have to do these things, and tomorrow I have these things"
It also displays when you created certain notes or when you bookmarked something.
So even if you keep things neatly organized, sometimes you can forget where you placed some note or bookmark or some file, but you can remember that you added it sometime in the past week. The timeline will help out with that.
At some point in the future, I hope to add a two-way sync with google calendar, so you could see your tasks in your calendar and your meetings in Pine.
I'll do my best to make Pine as user-friendly as possible. It's not easy and will take time. Version 1 won't be perfect, but I plan to focus on making existing features better instead of piling on new ones :)
Love the design. When I go into mobile, I get a menu for "pricing" page which doesn't actually exist. Although you may want to mention something or put your pricing link somewhere.
Thanks!
That's a great catch with the mobile nav, I'll fix it, thanks!
The pricing will be added soon :)
Beautiful landing page!
Creative cover.
Have you considered splitting the elements from the screenshots and give them a parallax effect when scrolling?
I find the calendar component a bit too much since it's present in almost all blocks (maybe it's just me)
And one issue with the horizontal scrollbar on Chrome + Windows @ full hd
Thanks!
I have a tendency to overdo it with details, additional parallaxes, as well as some nice fade-ins, were definitely on my mind, but I tried to stop myself and actually release something :))
And thanks for the issue report, I'll check it out!
Hi there!
I really like the landing page: the illustrations are awesome and it gives me a relaxing vibe, the features are laid out pretty clear and overall I feel that I got the idea of the product after I left the landing page.
I wish you the best of luck with the beta! (I signed up for the version 1)
Thank you, that's really great to hear! :))
