Just launched. Advice on getting early adopters for a dev tools SaaS?
My project is finally online https://portal.dev (SaaS that helps build Stripe-like API Reference documentation).
Any advice on best ways to get the first users?
Making a poll out of the list of ways to get users a while ago. Thing is most of these ideas require a lot of time (not that I don't have it, but I don't need a huge traction, just a couple of super-users, so I'd prefer not to spend an unreasonable amount of time on this).
Any ideas and comments will be very appreciated!
Basic idea:
Find some larger projects on Github with shoddy API documentation. Offer them your tool for free (if open source software) and get your first users for free. Collect feedback.
With a few open source projects using your tool approach a few companies to get your first paying users.

I see that you're using GitBook for your API docs right now, I'd love to ask you a couple of questions (e.g. what's the annoying thing in GitBook that makes you look for a better tool).

What about doing comparison blog posts to existing document software? like "portal.dev vs gitbook"

Ha. Looking at job ads can be a really good way to find out who's building docs. Thanks man, great tip. I'll get in touch with Supertokens too, I see they use GitBook as well.
