Just launched HomeScholar: A Personalized-Learning Platform for HomeSchoolers

Hey!
My name is Andrew, and I am a 17-year-old homeschooler/builder working on a platform to make learning entirely personalized for homeschoolers.

In short, I think that not having an education personalized to a student's interests means that they aren't going to get 100% of it--there is a reason students get bored and scroll TikTok--so I am trying to make learning just as frictionless and personalized as TikTok. What I have built is a framework for homeschooled families to work off of and use as a base for their education, as parents know their children better than any platform can. It puts parents in the driver's seat, with content recommendations, automatic assessment generation that is personalized to the learner, and a pathway to becoming an expert in their area of interest.

It is nowhere close to what I am dreaming of it becoming(I have a list of dream features as long as my arm), but if you would give it a shot I would greatly appreciate it - there is a paid tier, but you will only really hit the free-tier cap if you are fully incorporating it into your homeschooling curriculum. You can check it out and try it for free at https://HomeScholar.XYZ. Any feedback would be amazing, and if you know any homeschoolers/homeschooled parents please share it 🙏

Great news! Wish you good luck!

The content is concise and well-written. It effectively conveys the key information.
Make sure to keep the content regularly updated, especially if there are any events, news, or changes related to the website's theme.

The menu is simple and easy to navigate, which is excellent.
Consider adding a "Contact" or "Support" link in the menu for easy access to help or inquiries.

The images used are relevant and high-quality.
If possible, consider adding a bit more variety in images to maintain visual interest.

Good note - thanks, I really appreciate it.

Nice idea, do you have any data on how many kids are doing home-schooling? Any percentage or numberS?

    1. 1

About 3.1 million in the US!

Nice idea but may I know how it is supposed to work like. I signed up and it is asking me to add something in Graph.

    1. 1

      Yes, that is correct.
You add things to the graph to start learning whatever content you are interested in.

As a parent, IMHO too much friction there. If I knew what to teach them, then I can search it online anyway. I think more people would be interested in this if you can curate some stuff and create learning paths based on age groups and interest areas.

First of all, thanks for the feedback!
Second, I don't think it is explained well on the website that your learner should just put in whatever they are interested in - rockets, sailboats, music, whatever and it will start the chain of learning.
Third: we are currently working on a feature to ask "what is your dream job" and make that the "north star". Would that make it clearer?
          Any ideas/feedback is greatly appreciated.

I definitely think that having a onboarding questionnaire, to get to know what the user want is going to be important for your platform

totally slipped my mind, but that's a great note. much appreciated.
