Just launched QuickTranscript - a searchable memory for coding tutorials

I've consumed probably 500+ hours of coding tutorials, tech talks, and conference videos. And I retain maybe 10% of it.

The worst part isn't forgetting — it's almost remembering.

"I know I watched someone explain Prisma migrations perfectly. I can picture the guy's VS Code theme. But I can't find the video, and even if I could, I'd have to scrub through 2 hours to find 90 seconds."

So I built QuickTranscript.

## What it does

Paste any YouTube URL → instant searchable transcript → save it → search across ALL your saved transcripts at once. When you need "that thing about async/await," you search your library and get the exact moment it was explained, with a timestamp link straight to the video.

## The problem

I'm solving Video is the best medium for learning to code, but the worst medium for reference. You watch a 2-hour tutorial, absorb 10%, then months later you need one specific thing and have to rewatch the whole video. YouTube's transcript feature is buried and only works one video at a time. ChatGPT summaries are generic. Taking notes during every tutorial is unrealistic.

## What makes it different

- Not an AI summarizer — I want the actual words, not a robot's interpretation - Cross-transcript search — search your entire library at once (YouTube can't do this) - No friction — paste URL, get transcript, done. No signup required to try it.

## Stack

- Frontend: Lovable (React)

- Backend: Supabase (Edge Functions + Postgres)

- API: Supadata for transcript extraction - Built in ~1 week as a solo founder

## Current status

- 67 transcripts cached - 9 categories (Vibe Coding, React, Backend, Python, etc.) - Chrome extension submitted (pending approval) - Free to use, building toward freemium model

## Revenue plan

- Free tier: Ads (AdSense pending approval) - Premium ($9.99/mo): No ads, workspace/bookmarking, batch downloads, AI summaries - API access for B2B

## What I need from this community

Honest feedback from people who learn from video:

1. Is this solving a real problem or am I overthinking it?

2. Would you use this over just rewatching the video?

3. What feature would make this a daily tool for you?

Try it: https://quicktranscript.ai I'm not here to sell — I'm here to validate. If this is solving a problem that doesn't exist, I'd rather know now than after building premium features nobody wants. Brutal honesty appreciated.

🙏 --- What I'll share here: - Weekly metrics (traffic, signups, revenue) - What's working and what's not - Building in public, failures included Thanks for reading. Would love your thoughts.
